My wife is the only non-golfer in the family.  And so while my eight-year-old daughter and five-year-old son would bond together over a round of golf, my wife has often opted to do other things during the 4 hour wait.

Finally, she has realized that she was missing out on the fun of whacking that little white ball.  Hence, two weeks ago, she finally decided to take up the sport.

What can I say but, "Hallelujah!!!"     There are a few quotes that come to mind in this case:

"If you can't beat them join them" would be the most obvious.

I'd like to believe though that the more relevant statement would be fashioned after Father Patrick Peyton's Family Rosary Crusade slogan :

"The family that plays together...stays together".
