This is a rejoinder to my last post about saying goodbye to summer.
Last week was spent in Bacolod getting the hang of working from a new office. We finally shut down the office of the family biz located at the 2nd Floor of the Lourdes Center. For those who are familiar with the place, the company's office is located atop the famous Calea cake and coffee shop! We'll talk about Calea and it's legendary cakes some other time :-)
Anyway, we moved the office to a neat 2-storey structure behind my mom's residence. This was planned in a way to make it easier for her to check on her staff and vice versa given her advancing age. The move also made it convenient for me to "commute" to the office within a few steps and a flight of stairs. Talk about beating the rising cost of gasoline!
By 8 am I was in the office but in typical Bacoleno "office attire"...shorts and a sports shirt.
Even back in Manila, I was already in the habit of being in shorts while moving around the Makati area. I'd have to say goodbye to all of that as Dep and I move into the frenetic activity of media strategy and OOH media planning and buying. In a way, we're back to our old jobs.
The once forlorn buttoned shirts and business attire have been resurrected! It will take some time getting used to it again but I'll surely cope. One thing's for sure though...I'm not going all the way to where my partner Dep is at. Dep wears a barong to work ;-)
i think it was you who said that the most successful people are the ones who wears shorts to work :-)
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean you're out of retirement? I can attest to the fact that shorts are a typical Negrense business attire. Well, if you own the business, or the farm, or the... :-)
ReplyDeletei'll clarify that in a succeeding post
