Something important is slated for this June and July this year.  I cannot miss this for the world.  Then again, July is junior golf tournament season again in the U.S.

My son, Joaquin, has another shot at the same age group he participated in last July 2008.  Last July, he was a five-year-old playing in a pool dominated by six-year-olds.  This July, he stands a better chance in the competition.

However, the important family milestone slated in July may mean that we will have to forego participating in the 2009 Callaway Junior World Golf Championships.  I have to admit, it was an awesome experience being able to serve as a caddy to one's son as was done last year.  Because of that, I yearn for more.  But there seems to be more important things to attend to in the months to come.  For this, I will just have to lay down at the Master's feet, this desire to take the whole family to San Diego to see Joaquin play again at Colina Park.  Lord, let your will be done.

It would be nice to be back in sunny San Diego, breathing the crisp air of Torrey Pines.  But viewing things with a wider perspective, could it be that God granted us the chance to go last year because He knew that we couldn't make it this year?  Besides, some kids have never made it to the Junior World Golf Championships at all, so, why be a glutton for two?  Furthermore, it is not as if this is the last crack at Junior World.  At his age, Joaquin still has eleven more years to go as a junior golfer (graduation from jungolf is at 17).

With the myriad of thoughts running through my mind, the best way to let things settle is to humbly present the matter to the Master with a resolute, "Lord, let your will be done".
