I feel like shouting "Happy New Year!".

The opening of classes today signals the official end of summer and the beginning of a new school year for the kids.  It wasn't like this last year.  Last year, classes had already begun and yet summer was still on as based on the US calendar and owing to the participation of my son in the Junior World Golf Championships.

This year, while Oaui did qualify for Team Philippines again, we just decided to forego the opportunity to play in San Diego and gave the slot to the next kid in line.  We are content.  We had a full summer.  Kids went to Bacolod and stayed there for 10 days with their lolas while my wife and I attended to our ongoing project here in Manila.

Our highlights for this summer...Victory's "Me and My Dad Camp", where both kids and I had a blast at Sierra Madre Mountain Resort, Oaui's qualifying rounds for Team Philippines and caddying for him in the US Kids Golf Philippine Qualifiers.  Then of course, there's Bea who astounded us with her artwork in "Small Hands Big Art".

It was a full summer, a hectic one at that.  But it was great.

With no US golf trips scheduled.  We hope to lead a less hectic school year ahead.

Our only major family event for the year turns up in two to three weeks time.
