How I ended up in the short list of 10 people to be invited to have lunch with the bank CEO at his residence puzzles me.

Four officers plus ten clients.  I was out of place in so many ways.  Age was one.  Everyone else except myself and one of the officers were above their 40s.  The other guest/clients were institutions in their own right.  I don't think I'm at that stage yet.

I was also the non-finance person being in marketing and advertising.  So while conversation ran around "quantitative easing" and other finance related matters, I just had to amuse myself with the table decor and chat up the bank officer who's about my age on parenting and topics like how quick the kids grow.

Having name cards on the table did not help a bit as I discovered that my name was positioned on the other end of the "kabisera".

The saving grace finally came when the topic shifted to...you guessed it...GOLF!

Okay now we're talking.  Now I'm not out of place. :-)
