For a few hours some 2 weeks ago in London, we were able to turn back the clock and actually step back into 1983. My wife and I met up with my "big brother" in the Philippine Science High School boys dorm, Dr. Greg Medalla, and my classmate from grade school in La Salle Bacolod, Juan Carlos Bonnin. After exchanging the usual pleasantries upon meeting, it seemed like we immediately zoomed back to the 80s appreciating all that it had to offer in hindsight as well as viewing it with more mature perspectives.
It is so true that a large part of our lives which we will never forget is high school. The lessons learned are so valuable especially as we recall that the three of us had to wing out life at an early stage hastened by the fact that we all had to live in dorms.
My wife was just amazed at how guys could also be such chatterboxes which could be blamed on too much reflection that comes along with stepping into the age of 40. While others struggle with the onsets of mid-life crisis, we were happy to part later in the day to agree that this simple meeting would be a milestone in mid-life rebirth...a start of new things...only this time contending with the minor physical setbacks such as receding hairlines, gray hair, and a few more pounds.

ReplyDeleteyes he is. we are seen standing in front of the historic church building where his congregation meets. the church building was built in the 11th century and partially razed in the Great Fire of London of the 17th century. consequently it was rebuilt by Sir Cristopher Wren, the famous British architect who built St. Paul's Cathedral.
