The Atty. and I were discussing about kicking the Starbucks urge. No, it's not because frappuccinos contain so many calories and fat. It's simply because a good cup of coffee brewed and branded under the Starbucks name is equivalent to 2 liters of gasoline or diesel.
Hello Dunkin' Donuts! ...better yet, "Miss, I'll just have a cup of hot water,...(may Maxwell 3-in-1 ako dito)"
LOL
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, but not about Starbucks, but Mrs. Fields and Dairy Queen. Hu hu hu, goodbye sugar rush.
Being an Ilocano, I brew my genuine double espresso daily with a reliable Italian small espresso-maker gifted by our hosts in Milan few years ago. (That's also fulfilling a biblical responsibility for every husband - Hebrews.) But since I can't bring the "maker" around, I still give in to Starbucks, also, the Ilocano way, meaning, courtesy of over-generous buddies (not Ilocanos of course). Blessings to you Lloyd.

ReplyDeletei agree. nothing with with starbucks once i while. however their prices are indeed impractical for a daily basis... it's almost equivalent to an average call center agent's DAILY WAGE!!! (or, in my case, an online english teacher) choco honey dip ng dunkin' is ok along with necasfe 3-in-1.
ReplyDeleteMcDo may coffee din...P 29 lang. Sometimes I add P 10 soft serve ice cream to make an instant latte. McCafe cafe espresso is P 50
ReplyDeleteOh yeah cheapest bottomless iced tea...P 35 over at Combi in UP Village.
back when i was at harrison, we stopped going to starbucks at herrera in favor of the nescafe vendo at the back of the building. i mean, really, it was Php 80 against Php 7.00 for a cup of A4 ( coffee with cream and sugar). A4 ang tawag namin kasi you had to press the letter A and number 4 :-D yan ang cost-saving! :-D
