How much does a good feeling cost?  For some, it will cost them 2.5 million to 4 million pesos.

A friend and I were crossing through Rockwell's north lobby where some German cars were on display.  Following his initial words of admiration, my initial comment was, "You're not really buying the car.  You're just buying the feeling".  I went on to say, "I cannot afford to buy a 2.5 million feeling".

Why do people buy expensive cars?  Is it because the German car is really superior than the Japanese (or Korean) equivalent?  If the objective for the car is just to get a person from point A to B, then even a Chery or Suzuki Alto will do.

Three million pesos is too much for a person to spend for a car in order to purchase a good feeling about oneself.  A feeling that merely says, "I have arrived".

In the end, the friend and I were laughing because I commented, "It's sad if someone spends three million pesos on this car, feels good about himself while positioned behind the wheel, but doesn't know that the people in the car beside him in the traffic jam are commenting, "Ganda ganda ng car...pero hindi bagay sa mukha ng nagda-drive."  :-)
