I went to bed last night still "munching" Pastor Joey Bonifacio's sermon last Sunday. The sermon had to do about prosperity. In this day and age of materialism, prosperity is often equated with a dollar or peso sign before a numeric value. This doesn't have to be the case.
I went to bed last night content and extremely grateful for things which I may never put a price tag on. To wit:
-being able to come home early and have enought time to actually sit in the living room with my wife and talk about the days events...until dinner comes around, and then some more conversation
-being able to actually sit in the dining table not having to answer a client's text message about why their billboard on EDSA is not illuminated
-knowing that my kids will soon be enrolled in a school just 2 blocks away from where I'm usually at in the daytime, hence Jollibee and McDo lunchbreaks with Dad are in the offing
This is just a sampler. Reader, I'm sure that if you were to just pause and think, you yourself are abundantly blessed with so many items you cannot put a price tag on.
Go ahead. Count your blessings. Count them slowly.
The Prosperity That Matters

ReplyDeleteVery good reminder my friend - but since I already have all those, I go for the real pound, euro, dollar and peso, (in that order) and not just their real signs. hahaha

ReplyDeleteExactly our thoughts this one night we rode a friend's boat to watch the pyroolympics. And no one told us that the fireworks show was canceled that night. So instead of whining about the change of plans, we just sailed around the bay, had kfc on board, enjoyed the breeze, the view, and the conversations. And we felt rich. So blessed. It does not take much to be happy. God is a generous God, and whatever blessings He sends our way, it's great to know there's more where it came from.
ReplyDeleteu know, too much blessing can be a curse ;-)
