The problem with strategists is the inherent compulsion to lay out a plan way ahead of time. Planning ahead is good. We all need a plan. In fact, as a side note to the husbands reading this post, nothing irritates a woman more than a man without a plan (and the women said..."Amen!"). However, I've come to realize that there is a certain point in time wherein we just have to allow the Sovereign One to steer us on the paths where we are to trod.
There are times when we just have to give up our planning skills because God obviously has something better. As for the puny plans crafted within the realm of our finite brain, well, these are all subject to be superceded by His purposes. Jeremiah 29:11-14 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD.
Lately, I've been in that state where I have given up on planning. I've thrown my hands up to say, "LORD, ikaw bahala". The prayers have been a resolute "Let Your Kingdom Come and Your Will Be Done".
As it is, He has never disappointed. Not a single bit. And I must say, I am enjoying the ride. The results even stun me as I think in hindsight, "Man, I could never pull off anything like that if I had planned it myself!". So here I am having this crazy smile on my face. It may feel a bit uncomfortable not having any control, but I guess that's how it really ought to be. :-)

This has been the verse I've hold on to Lloyd since 2001 until I worked in PP and left. It can be frustrating or we may feel blessed when we planned and it goes a different direction, but always and will be --->HE IS The Captain!
