It is sad that kids in school are learning the practice of politicians at an early age.
A friend of mine who is an established advertising photographer decided to try out and bid for a high school yearbook project.
He started with his alma mater and offered his services. The boys who ran the yearbook were not coy at all in telling him that this is what they were asking for so that he could get the project:
1) PhP 150,000.00 in cash
2) A year's use of his condo across the school
Friend was disgusted. Although he could easily afford the demands, it was obvious that he didn't want to be an accomplice in breeding the next generation of "buwayas". The kids are just in their teens. What would happen if they step out of college and enter into law school?
Friend decides to just go back to shoot advertising projects.
Let's pray for our nation.
Learning How To Be Corrupt At An Early Age

This is terrible. No wonder you can't do anything in this country without someone holding out a hand, palm open.
ReplyDeleteThese kids should have been reported to the school. You have to nip rot like those in the bud.
ReplyDeleteyes, they have to be reported and reprimanded and that incident be put on their permanent records...
ReplyDeleteHow disgusting! Yes, I agree...let's pray for our nation, every single day. :(
ReplyDeleteI was in that industry once; it is very competitive and dirty. You also need to bribe the school officials. But yes, it is more alarming and saddening when you realize the youth are corrupted so early. Heartbreaking.
ReplyDeletevisited the site. nakakalungkot. Wondering how young the kids were when theystarted believing that that kind of behaviour is acceptable. mas nakakatakot isipin.
ReplyDeletetrue. what bothers me further is the fact that for obvious reasons, yearbook staff are usually the academic ones. those who know how to write, can appreaciate art, etc. and yet, amidst the evident talent and intellect, a crooked heart lurks. proof that these "bright ones" could eventually be our lawmakers given their knack for academics.
ReplyDeleteIt will entail an entrapment operation I tell you. Tanga lang sila because they're asking for a year's use of the condo which can be prima face evidence of the under-the-table deal.
