Continued from "Scenes from my past life"
In my past life, I wanted to be Patrick Demarchelier. Just like Mons. Demarchelier, I wanted to shoot Princess Diana. No, not in the paparazzi kind of way. I yearned for the day to somehow catch better moments of the Princess with her 2 young boys, Wills and Harry, in settings reminiscent of a Burberry catalog.
My aunt tells me, "No, that will not happen". She continues to say, "the Princess of Wales only has 2 official sittings with the Royal Photographer". Aunt speaks with authority and I concede. She is the only Filipina employed by the royal household at Kensington Palace. She is and was perhaps the only Filipina who was ever in "chika" terms with Diana.
Since I have no pics of Diana to show, I will have to settle with my two shots of Philippine pseudo-royalty (if we should dare use the term). Photos taken at the Philippine Embassy in Palace Green which is a stone's throw away from Diana's Kensington Palace.
Picture of Bea Zobel was not colored through Adobe Photoshop. This is the scanned image of the original print. Photo was taken using Ilford XP2 - a black and white film which is processed using color chemicals (C-41). Printing was done through specified filtration in order to achieve the sepia tint. ....now I'm missing old-fashioned photography :-)
