School ended last Friday.

Caddy duty now begins.  This year, the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines, through the leadership of Luigi Tabuena, has decided that parents may caddy their children in the Qualifying Rounds for the Junior World Golf Championships (limited to the 6 and under age group and the 7-8 y.o. age group).

This is in order for the parents to familiarize themselves with the rules and everything else that comes along with caddying one's child on the course.  Really makes sense because after all, when a child qualifies to play for Team Philippines in
any of these two age groups , it is still the parent who will serve as caddy once in the US.

Caddying last Saturday was good.  Oaui's putter was blazing that day sinking a lot of pars and a birdie.  He scored well though not as good as the other 8 year old kids who were the "seniors" in the 7-8 age group.  Nevertheless, it was great for him to discover that moving into the new age group wasn't that hard after all, and that the 8 year olds don't necessarily have to dominate the game.
