I was way too early for a meeting yesterday at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Burgos Circle. While browsing around on what to order while waiting, I was taking note of the two baristas going about with their early morning set-up chores.
In my mind, thoughts which I have had ever since I resigned from the ad agency 5 years ago resurfaced. Thoughts of simply being a barista. No, I do not mean owning a coffee shop and being a hands-on proprietor. I simply want to be employed as a barista.
I wonder what my wife will say. I wonder what my kids will say.
One of these days, I just might come around to it.
You might get bored? I envision you doing it only as a weekend thing :)
ReplyDeleteI possibly could get bored. However, I want to try it for 5 months and wouldn't mind at all if I am not regularized.
ReplyDeleteWhat really interests me is the simple human interaction over a cash register/counter. I would also want to learn how to really serve people at the most basic sense.
Always wanted to become a barista--but they won't accept a weekend-only 'full-time' LOL! What lured be is the apron...and the accent, probably, hahaha! Go, Lloyd!
